Linda M. Schuett Joins Linowes and Blocher Former Anne Arundel County Attorney to be Partner in Firm’s Annapolis Branch
Linda M. Schuett, who served for almost eight years as the County Attorney for former Anne Arundel County Executive Janet S. Owens, will join the law firm of Linowes and Blocher L.L.P., effective January 2, 2007. She will be located at the firm's Annapolis office, located at 145 Main Street.
Ms. Schuett will focus her practice on land use matters at Linowes and Blocher, a firm known throughout the State for its real estate and zoning, and business law practice. As County Attorney, Ms. Schuett was the author of a comprehensive revision of the County's laws relating to zoning, subdivision, and development. She also authored legislation relating to the critical area, grading, and storm water management.
Ms. Schuett was a trial lawyer before becoming County Attorney and she will continue to handle litigation matters at Linowes and Blocher, including commercial, property, land use, and banking cases. She is the co-author of Maryland Rules Commentary, a recognized treatise on the rules of civil procedure and trial practice. She is also the author of Advance Court Rules Service for Maryland and West Virginia. She is a member and the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Court of Appeals.
Ms. Schuett obtained her law degree, with honor, from University of Maryland School of Law in 1980. She is a member of the bar of Maryland and the District of Columbia. She was selected in 1996 and 2001 by the Appellate Judicial Nominating Committee as a candidate for appellate judgeships. She was selected as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women for 2001.
