Overview

The firm represents the maritime industry in a wide range of business matters; especially involving business transactions, compliance, permitting and real property issues. Clients include recreational and commercial marina owners and operators, as well as marine contractors and construction interests. Often our representation involves working with multiple regulatory authorities including the Army Corps of Engineers, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Maryland Department of Environment and Department of Natural Resources, the Maryland Board of Public Works, and the variety of local governments and municipalities that hold concurrent regulatory authority. Our work includes:

  • Real estate financing, acquisition and development
  • Riparian rights disputes
  • Critical Area restrictions as they pertain to marinas and marine trades, including variances, buffer management plans, buffer exemption/modification areas, refinements and remappings, and growth allocation
