Kneeland to Speak on Lender Liability

Jennifer L. Kneeland, a partner in our Bankruptcy and Litigation group, is a featured speaker at a seminar presented by the National Business Institute on Real Estate Foreclosure.  The seminar will take place on February 5, 2013 at the Tremont Grand Hotel at 225 North Charles Street, Baltimore Maryland.  Ms. Kneeland will focus her discussion on best practices to avoid lender liability.  She will discuss liability risks presented by a lender’s failure to mitigate damages, including failure to foreclose upon a lender's collateral in a timely manner.  Ms. Kneeland will also address lender liability risks that result from lender decisions to reduce or freeze credit that adversely impact ongoing development and construction of real estate development projects. 

Ms. Kneeland has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for 2012 and 2013.  She has been named as one of Maryland’s Rising Stars for 2011, 2012 and 2013 by SuperLawyers magazine.  She was also recently named by The Daily Record as one of the state of Maryland’s 50 Leading Women Under 40.  Ms. Kneeland also serves at the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Board of Directors of Olney Theatre Center for the Arts, Inc. in Olney, Maryland.
