Former City of Rockville Assitant City Attorney Joins Firm

Former Assistant City Attorney with the City of Rockville, Payman Tehrani, joins Linowes and Blocher LLP as an associate in the firm’s Land Use/Zoning practice group.  His practice includes representing clients in a wide range of matters pertaining to land use, zoning, subdivisions and other development, regulatory entitlements, and related litigation.  As Assistant City Attorney with the City of Rockville he advised the Mayor and Council, the City Manager, Directors and department heads, City staff, various boards and commissions and City police on all matters pertaining to their official duties and City policy.  Additionally, Mr. Tehrani had a lead role in representing the City in a first chair capacity in civil litigation matters in State trial courts, Appellate courts and administrative agency proceedings, as well as serving as lead legal advisor to the City of Rockville’s Department of Inspections Services and Department of Community Enhancement and Code Enforcement.

In addition to his professional duties, Mr. Tehrani is extensively involved in the community and he is the President of the Prince George’s County Police Athletic League, a local chapter of a nationally recognized non-profit which acts in conjunction with the Prince George’s County Police Department to help youths get involved in recreational sports and club related activities.  Mr. Tehrani is also fluent in Farsi.
