Gerald W. Heller is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice. He has built a long track record of favorable outcomes based on his deep understanding of the real estate industry and the law. His goal in every case is cost-effective representation that leads to the efficient resolution of client claims.

Jerry represents all types of clients in the real estate industry as both plaintiffs and defendants, including commercial property owners and landlords, title companies, large retailers, and developers. He focuses on all aspects of real estate litigation, including contract disputes, construction-related disputes, and title insurance matters. He also represents business owners and professional service providers in general commercial litigation and arbitration on matters such as corporate and partnership disputes, as well as on employment, environmental, and banking issues.  

Jerry is a former Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C., where he gained substantial hands-on trial and appellate experience and developed a reputation in the local legal community for diligence and integrity. He regularly appears in local and federal courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and has tried cases and handled appeals in state and federal appeals courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Jerry has held numerous leadership positions in the Federal Bar Association (Maryland Chapter), including serving as president, and has served in several leadership roles with the Maryland State Bar Association, Maryland Bar Foundation, Bar Association of Montgomery County, and other legal organizations. This work serves to enhance his legal reputation, strengthen his professional network, and position him at the forefront of litigation and real estate law. Industry media have published many of his articles on a wide range of topics, and he lectures and has taught trial and appellate advocacy and other topics for various organizations.

Jerry is dedicated to giving back to his community, serving on the Executive Committee of the Lawyers’ Campaign Against Hunger and contributing to other organizations, such as youth sports leagues and his local parish.
