Dlhopolsky Speaks at Campaign Persuading Marriott to “Pick the Pike” for its New Headquarters
Heather Dlhopolsky, Partner, Linowes and Blocher LLP, and Chair of the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce, spoke at the kickoff of the #PickthePike campaign. #PickthePike is a joint effort of businesses, residents and developers to persuade Marriott to choose the Pike District (a/k/a the White Flint or North Bethesda area) for its new headquarters. Ms. Dlhopolsky discussed her experiences as a millennial and resident of the Pike District, and how millennials will welcome Marriott and other businesses to the Pike District. She also discussed how the Pike District is transit-friendly and attractive to millennials who both live and work near the Pike District.
Other guest speakers included Amy Ginsburg, Executive Director for Friends of White Flint; Roger Berliner, Montgomery County Councilmember; Marc Korman, District 16 State Delegate; and Howard Feldman, State Farm Insurance, located in the Pike District.
The Pike District is transforming into a vibrant, walkable, transit-friendly, live-work-play, smart growth community that appeals to millennials, exactly the location Marriott has declared it wants for its new headquarters.
