A message to our clients regarding the Firm’s response to COVID-19 and the directives from Governor Hogan and the health care experts

March 23, 2020

A message to our clients and cohorts regarding the Firm’s response to COVID-19 and the directives from Governor Hogan and the health care experts:  Although Linowes and Blocher LLP is considered (as a law firm) to be within  a critical infrastructure sector - and thus not ordered to close - in accordance with Governor Hogan’s Order Number 20-03-23-01 (March 23, 2020), the Firm’s Management Committee has made a decision to continue daily operations on a hybrid basis, with non-essential employees of the Firm working remotely and essential employees working remotely to a large extent. As such, during this time we will be staffing the office with only essential personnel and those necessary to address specific instances in order to ensure the continued provision of legal services to our clients to the best of our ability during this time of unprecedented crisis. Notwithstanding this adjustment to our typical office operations, all attorneys and staff will be working remotely during our normal business hours of 9:00 – 5:15 M-F in order to continue to be responsive to our clients’ needs, and email messages and voice mail messages will be monitored and responded to on a regular basis. Each attorney is also encouraged to provide clients and other contacts with their respective cell phone number to allow for better communication options. Should you have any questions or needs during this temporary adjustment period that cannot be addressed through your regular contact person(s) with the Firm, please contact the Firm’s Managing Partner Bob Dalrymple (301-961-5208/bdalrymple@linowes-law.com) for client matters or the Firm’s Office and HR Manager Valerie Michaelides (301-961-5188/ vmichaelides@linowes-law.com) or CFO and Director of Administration India Hall (301-961-5192/IHall@linowes-law.com). The Firm has determined that this hybrid approach (as opposed to remaining fully open as allowed for under the Governor’s Order) is the best and most responsible reaction to this pandemic, with all things considered (including the balance of client services and public health). We wish everyone good health and safety as we collectively do what is best for the most in combatting this horrible virus!
